The clubhouse is now decorated for Christmas.  Although we don’t have events planned for December please stop in and walk around to enjoy the decorations. We would like to spread some Christmas cheer.  The Christmas tree on the right side of the stage have residents’ names on the Christmas balls.  We only put last names on the balls so you may see more than one ball with the same name. Reminder that masks are required in the clubhouse. Please enjoy the decorated tree in the fitness center.

If you would like to participate please have your home decorated by Wednesday, December 2nd.  The judging will be done by outside judges to keep it fair for everyone.

Judging will be done after dark.

Prizes will be Visa cards

1st place: $75, 2nd place $50, 3rd place $25

This is an office sponsored event and we are providing the prizes.

Grove Annual Christmas Card Exchange through December 24th

The boxes are on the table in the Library for exchanging Christmas cards.  The boxes will have alphabetical dividers. Just place your card under the correct alphabetical heading.  This allows you to give out Christmas card to fellow Grover’s without the hassle and cost of mailing a card.

Please remember to come by every few days to check the boxes and pick up your cards.  The boxes fill up quickly.  Please don’t change the alphabetical set up of the boxes.  They are set up to accommodate the high count of some of the letters.

The office has their own box.

Enjoy the giving and receiving of Christmas cards.

Monday, November 30th Open Crafts 1:00 p.m.

Crafters, we are bringing back open crafts. Do you have projects that you just don’t seem to have time to work on?   Bring your project and spend time working on it while enjoying the company of other crafters. We will meet in the arts and craft room.

Christmas Caroling Information:

Many of you have asked about caroling and the post-Christmas party hosted by Kay and Nancy.  Due to the Covid and keeping with safety measures we will not have our caroling this year. Here is a message from Kay Butler which explains it well:

Regretfully and hugely disappointing but with a sense of responsibility for the health of others, Grovers Kay and Nancy will not be hosting their post-Christmas Caroling party this year.

With Covid infection increasing, health officials strongly discouraging group gatherings, and a concern for the well-being of others, a festive gathering as a group in our home would not be the most responsible thing to do.  Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay faithful. Kay

Grove Christmas Party

It is with great sadness that we announce there will be no Grove Christmas party this year.  With the CDC's recommendation of small gatherings, we feel it would be irresponsible to hold a larger gathering at this time.

The health and safety of our Grove family is very important.

Thank you to those who signed up to volunteer, and hopefully our large Grove family can gather together soon.

Reminder: Our librarian, Linda Reedy has asked that no magazines be donated to the library.  If you have magazines to donate call the Foley Public Library to find out if they are taking magazine donations at this time. 251-943-7665

Please remember to leave the fans in clubhouse rooms and fitness center on.  Don’t turn them off after an activity.  Also please remember to turn off the lights in the fitness center and clubhouse after an activity.

Vendor Services Book is located on the table in the library at the clubhouse. As you are using vendors to repair or replace sheds, patio’s and carports please take a moment to add that vendor to the book with a comment on their work. This will help everyone to know who to call and the quality of work that was done. Also, if you got a bid that was over the top please put that in the book also to alert other residents or if the quality of work was poor. We can all benefit from shared knowledge.

Reminder: In keeping the safety of all resident in mind, golf carts need to stop at the stop signs and drivers must be 16 years old and have a driver’s license to drive a golf cart.
